Tom is a busy man these day so I’ve got a few things to share with you guys so I’ll wrap them up in one post.

I’ve added a few more photos to some photoshoots.

Magazines/Photoshoots > Photoshoots > 2009 – Mark Chilvers
Magazines/Photoshoots > Photoshoots > 2010 – Travis Hodges

***

While I won’t add these photos to the gallery, Tom has been spotted having lunch at Charteau Marmont with his “Mad Max” co-star Charlize Theron.

***

Apparently, he’s also mentoring Lindsay Lohan to become sober. Accoring to this article, they have been introduced by mutual friends and he has given her advice on how to battle her addictions.

***

And, last but not least, Tom has been nominated for the Orange Wednesdays Rising Star Award 2011 along with Gemma Arterton, Andrew Garfield, Aaron Johnson and Emma Stone. The winner will be announced at the star-studded Orange British Academy Film Awards on Sunday 13 February 2011. (source)

This award is being voted for by fans/the public. So if you’d like to vote for Tom (or any of the other nominees), so here:

I have rather dire news for you today…

News currently blazing like a forest fire is Mad Max: Fury Road has delayed shooting until February 2012 – a full year after it was initially intended to get going. George Miller’s post-apocalyptic ‘dingo western’ (it might take off) was already subject to delay due to weather in the shooting location making it unfit to, er, shoot there. The crew have been told pre-production will not commence until August or November 2011.

The current delay remains mysterious but it looks like budget concerns as it grows and grows and grows. Remember, Mad Max: Fury Road is a fully Australian film production and will receive tax breaks and will employ hundreds of technicians – not just the high paid acting talent.

Only last week we reported with excitement over fresh information centring on Charlize Theron’s character having only one arm! Now we get this bad news. The matter surrounding Mad Max being split into two distinct movies: Mad Max: Fury Road and Mad Max: Furiosa has still not been settled or commented upon. Again, and this is just me ‘thinking out loud’, but maybe the delay could be the logistical preparations in shooting two movies simultaneously?

Mad Max: Fury Road will now begin production in February 2012 (hopefully), shooting at the spiritual home of Broken Hill, in 3D with WETA handling the special effects. Tom Hardy has replaced Mel Gibson as Max and they’ll be record-breaking 298 stunts. The film is reportedly set not long after events in Beyond Thunderdome.
